Huawei Mercury Prepaid Android Phone Deals

By Marie -
This review is from: Huawei Mercury Prepaid Android Phone (Cricket) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I bought this phone with Cricket service and it is amazing! It is super fast, easy to use and best of all it supports flash. It also has an amazing 8 mp rear camera with flash and a forward facing camera for video chat and easy self portraits! After owning this phone I have absolutely no desire for an IPhone or any other overpriced phone. I get great service, this is a premium phone and it is a great price for $199 LOVE IT!!! Oh yeah, and the voice searching features are 100% EVERY TIME!

...this phone is fantastic. It's fast; faster than, or at least equal to, an iPhone. I'm not an Apple fanboi, so I wanted a smartphone that ran Android and had decent speed. I also didn't want to pay $130 to a 'contract' based service, for one month of phone service. That was just outrageous. SO, I went with this phone, the Huawei Mercury M886. (I often joke with friends that the name of the company that makes it, Huawei, is pronounced to sound like "Who are we??"...a little tongue-in-cheek. I know it's not actually pronounced like that, but it's still amusing.) They also make Cricket's other popular phones, the Ascend and Ascend II. The Mercury though, seems to be their premiere and fastest smartphone, and as I've stated, it works great, except for one thing.

Now for the issue: The battery life is really not anywhere near what it states. If you were consistently talking, I would estimate you'd get about 4 hours of actual talk time. And that would be starting with a 100% charge. And 380 hours of standby time? NO WAY. That's 15...almost 16 days. I'd give it a maximum of TWO days....and that's with nothing enabled! With things like 3G or WiFi and GPS on, you need to charge it every day. Now, admittedly, I have the battery the phone came with. There is an extended battery available, and in the past, I have almost always bought the extended battery. The only problem? Nothing fits when you have an extended battery, because the bigger battery requires a new door and a new case. So any accessories that are available for the phone no longer fit, because nothing is designed with the extended battery in mind. However, if you can get over that, I would so go ahead and grab the extended battery...it'll about double your time between charges. Otherwise, carry a micro-usb cable with you, because this phone will need it. You can hook it up to a computer USB port, or its own charger power cord. A car charger is a good option if you spend lots of time in your car, just make sure to get a Huawei official charger, as it tends to not charge with third party chargers. It's quite power hungry, but aside from that, it's truly a great phone. I give it four stars out of five. For the fifth star, they'd have to rework the battery system. A 1950 MaH battery is just not enough.

Beautiful fast android smartphone that ATT, Verizon, TMobile, etc would charge you $800 for unless you sign up for a 2-year contract and then they would give you the $199 price. Cricket is month-to-month with no contract and charges less than these other carriers per month as well as not charging you an extra $600 for buying a phone without the contract! Way to go Cricket! This is such a beautiful fast powerful phone too!; way to go Huawei!

Huawei U8150 Ideos Unlocked GSM Phone Deals

I got this phone as a replacemnt for my broken nexus one. I know its about half the performance of the nexus one but its also 1/4 the price.

Considering the price it rocks. Its slow but acceptable. It does run the android opengl gears program. It gets about 45 fps. Out of the box it works with edge and wifi. It does not work 3G with T-Mobile. I am not sure if this is an APN problem or a simcard problem. I'll keep at it. According to online specs T-Mobile uses a frequency range which is supported by this phone.

Hello, I was hesitant to buy this phone due to reading reviews which said it did not get 3g, SIM card did not work, etc. I got this phone for about $60 in used condition from ReliableCellular (I thought the back cover would be blue..it is black. However, they did include a USB cord and charger which the ad said would not be included!) Shipping took a few days longer than desired (but not longer than approximated) but the device arrived in great condition...not 1 scratch on the screen (which can affect Swype typing/screen selections), only several small scratches on the back. I am SO satisfied with this phone...I will certainly be keeping it! However, I am sending back a phone which I got for slightly cheaper: Samsung Galaxy 5 Europa (i5500). Aside from it only getting EDGE (which I knew before buying it) the screen response was very inaccurate (Swype as well as recognizing taps), it was SLOW to react (5+ seconds for basic homescreen selections...much much slower loading websites) whereas the U8150 Comet is usually brisk (1-3 seconds to open a homescreen item, about 10+ seconds to load a webpage.) I saw a video review complaining about the lack of buttons on the side but I like that aspect. Often times side buttons are activated while I have a phone in the "car mount" since the car mount arms squeeze the side of the phone (I navigate a LOT). I have not had such a problem with this phone yet and the only concern would be volume, not camera also being activated, or the charging port being blocked (all were worries that I had with my often laggy MyTouch 4G Slide Dual core phone which I just sold.) The video also made it seem like the middle d-pad would be difficult to use and it does look quite flush against the phone in pictures..but it is not. It is raised enough for me to click up, down, and side to side with zero problems (I mainly use it for scrolling a screen or editing between tiny letters). Oh and the screen on this phone is brighter than on the Samsung Galaxy 5! I had them side by side at full brightness. The colors were less faded/tinted on the U8150 Comet..more Neon-like and the homescreen icons - even though the screens are the same size - were slightly larger on the U8150. I was worried that the slender vertical buttons would become painful to fingers but all buttons on this phone feel perfect: enough resistance to resist an accidental bumping into but enough give to prevent one from needing to press hard. This has TONS more built-in widgets/shortcuts than the Samsung Galaxy 5 Europa. For example...instead of merely a Settings shortcut, I can have a shortcut to Bluetooth within settings. There is also a readily available music toggle widget which the Samsung did not have.
This came with Android 2.2 as did the Samsung (which I think was "rooted" (and perhaps didnt have the official 2.2 since I saw "root-..." under the Samsung's version info) yet the U8150 came with 5 screens...the Samsung came with only 3 screens which I was able to bump up to 4 screens by tweaking a homescreen setting.
The Samsung came with horizontal menu scrolling and I didnt see a way to change that. The U8150 Comet has vertical scrolling - which I prefer.
The battery life seems slightly better on this phone than on the Samsung but both were used phones/batteries so maybe the Samsung's was older...I dont know. This phone is more obedient and predictable. Even when I had the Samsung Galaxy 5 on SILENT, it would make a kind of loud vibrating/buzzing noise when I unlocked the screen (haptic feedback was off..everything such as that was turned OFF.) Both the Samsung and the Huawei U8150 Comet did that but the Comet's sound is much lower. You can get rid of that unlock vibration by making it unlock via Pattern (probably by code as well.) I dont like a loud phone...so it annoyed me that even at the LOWEST volume settings, the Samsung was loud (yet voice volume was only "okay" when set to the loudest level...odd. The U8150 Comet is louder on calls.) The Comet has an actual LOW to semi-high ringing range.
The negatives of the U8150 Comet? Camera - very blurry/out of focus...even worse than I had anticipated and worse than the Samsung Galaxy 5 in the same lighting (which admittedly was dim)
Screen seems a tiny bit fuzzier than on the Samsung Galazy 5 but the improved brightness, colors, and viewing size is more important to me.
Android Market/Google Play - I have been prevented from downloading 1 or 2 things that the MyTouch 4g was able to download...but not big surprise there. Just thought I should let you know though. One of them was Yahoo Voice/Video calling.
This lacks the handy "recently used applications" section in the upper notification bar area (which the Samsung Galaxy 5 also did not have but the MyTouch 4g did have) but holding the Home button gave a similar effect.
This phone does not have a widget-like data control panel built into the notification area whereas the Samsung Galaxy 5 did. But I think the homescreen widget is nearly as convenient.

Overall, this U8150 Comet is a great substitute for my old MyTouch 4g. Worse camera, but faster reaction times. Slightly worse website loading speed, but about 1/3 the weight of the MyTouch 4G Slide. Oh, and the Comet gave me no problems with my T-Mobile SIM, or syncing gmail, yahoo mail, etc. Recption seems the same as the Samsung or MyTouch...nothing amazing or bad. If you are curious about "hot swappability"...this one's SD card slot is not. The Samsung's was hot swappable/change out without removing the battery. The comet has about the easiest to open back cover ever...just slide it down firmly and I opens. :)

Happy shopping to you.

HUAWEI Impulse 4G U8800 Unlocked GSM Deals

I'm a Consumer Cellular user, and this phone worked perfectly for me. I didn't bother to request a different sim card. Just took the one out of my current phone and put it in this one. Bam,.. I was off and calling. It was a truly seamless transition.
The phone was great. I'm not a techie who must have the latest, so this phone brought everything I need to the table. Until the screen died.

5 months i purchased it, this phone has died. Started with the screen going black, and having to turn off and then turn on again the phone. This happened more and more often until one day, the screen just wouldn't light back up. The phone is on, but the screen is dead.

Got rid of the phone since I could find no place to get it fixed. Bought a Sony, from Sony, so if there are any warrenty questions, I know where to get it fixed. If your Huawie works, hurrah for you,.. but if it dies, you're screwed.

While I am an Amazon junkie, I got this phone through my carrier. There are actually four or five U8800 models. Presumably, this is the U8800-51. There is little difference in Android phones. They are all the same Chinese schlock. A couple of things you should know:

There are phones being sold with four different versions of Android; <2.2, 2.2 ("Froyo"), 2.3 ("Gingerbread") and 4.0 ("Ice Cream Sandwich"). This phone runs on Froyo which will run 99% of Google apps. One downside to this phone is that it is probably cannot be upgraded to Gingerbread. For the VAST number of users that will be irrelevant.

If you want access to the Google apps market (most of which is free), browse, use email - great. This is also a good media player (audio and video). Oh and it actually makes and receives phone calls too. I am a cord cutter and this is terrific communicator. It plays very well with my bluetooth headset and has a good speaker as well. The camera is good - not great. While it is 5 megapixel, the lens is very wide angle. The digital zoom erodes picture quality. However, unlike many phone in this range it DOES have a flash.

One other thing that you should know is that Huawei (sounds like a Hawaiian disease) expects you to get technical support from your carrier. Their US tech support is awful.

I got this phone about 2 weeks ago and it has amazed me so far.
The screen at 3.8" is pretty wide. Battery life is decent and sound quality is good.
Android 2.2 Froyo works great it's up to you to pick and install the apps you want in addition to the preloaded ones.
I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that it has FM radio built in. It has been described elsewhere as not included.
The GPS works fine just make sure you get the address in before leaving the reach of
your WiFi hot spot. I have not yet seen another phone that gives you (combined) the speed (800 MHZ processor), the 5 mega
pixel camera, the 3.8" HD quality movie picture, the regular audio connector, and the overall solid build at such a competitive price.
I used the Tweaker app and I was on my service provider network in 5 seconds no customer service rep needed.
Using mobile network internet feels just like WiFi. That 4G must be for real.
Make sure you uncheck the mobile network under settings or you may quickly rake up some serious data
charges.

Huawei Premia 4G LTE Prepaid Android Deals

I was a little skeptical buying this phone since I wasn't familiar with the manufacture but so far I am very pleased. The call quality is great. It doesn't feel cheap and it's of average weight. This is a perfect phone for the consumer who is looking to save money but who also wants a quality reliable device. If your looking for an Iphone or Galaxy SIII smart phone I think you might be disappointed but if you want a phone that is powerful enough for social media and you-tube and other internet related services I think you'll really enjoy this phone. The phone is incredibly responsive with a snapdragon processor and alot of RAM. The fact that it comes with Ice Cream Sandwich is also a bonus. Awesome phone, great value.

I've never bought a phone from Huawei brand before, however, I wasn't disappointed. The phone is very fast with videos and web pages. It doesn't lag with games. At first, my battery life was draining very fast, but I began clearing my cache for apps after use and my phone's battery lasts most of the day (7+ hours) now even with occasional use of messaging, Facebook, YouTube, chatting, and web browsing. I love the small notification light on the right-hand side, alerting of FB notifications, voicemail, and messages. The user interface isn't bad either.

I was looking for all these qualities inside a 4G phone from Metro PCS and decided against the LG Motion despite its popularity because of it's extremely small screen. I'm pleased to say that Huawei Premia has all of specs of an LG Motion, but with a considerably larger screen. If you are looking for a budget 4G phone with great qualities and a larger screen, I recommend the Huawei Premia.

Huawei Ascend P6 Unlocked smartphone Deals

This review is from: Huawei Ascend P6 Unlocked smartphone 1.5GHz Quad core K3V2E 6.18mm Thickness (Wireless Phone Accessory)
This is a great phone, I actually ordered mine and had it shipped from China, before it was available here So I've used it for several months now. The seller even rooted it on request. This phone is great.

-The Display is perfect as far as brightness - auto dimming etc are concerned. Resolution is just right for the screen size.

-Usually I dislike overlays by manufacturer but Huawei really did well with the Emotion UI. It is very adjustable and functional and also smooth.

-The Enhanced security for push notifications and app management is really great.

-Power management modes are also wonderful. While it might get down to below 30 percent. Enabling "Endurance" mode elongated the remaining battery life.

-The Camera is amazing. Video chat is spectacular with the 5Mp front facing camera. Huawei includes a easy to use editing suite.

-I've heard people saying that the performance was poor but I can say that I have not experienced that in the slightest. It is good to understand your phone is a small computer and thus should be managed as one. Neglecting the amount of background apps installed will always degrade your battery life and performance no matter what phone you use.

I don't have any storage issues as I use a very large SD card anyway.

The looks of this phone were its biggest selling point. The brushed aluminum just looks awesome. The rounded bottom gives the it a unique feature that.. gets the response "That is not an iphone... What is that??"

Its heavier than you'd expect but its a great weight to feel. Having dropped it on the concrete from about 3 feet, two separate times I can say that its also very rugged. Haven't cracked the glass and barely scratched the edges.

Cons.

No NFC, No LTE
meh 42Mb/s HSPA+ is fast enough..

Styling and size is very good. Huawei UI is a little funky, quite a bit different from other androids.
Screen works good outdoors.
Only negative so far is poor battery life for me.

I got this as a Gift, I decided to replace my Samsung S3 with it.
I can say I'm really impressed about how thin, light and FAST!

Fast, most of the apps open 3x faster than the S3.
Battery seems so far the same.
Construction is High Quality, I could compare to Iphone5
Size is perfect, feel just right on the hand.

Cons: It gets more hot than the S3.

This review is from: I9220(N9000) 5.0" Capacitive Android 4.0 Dual SIM Smart Phone With 8GB ROM (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I needed a dual Sim phone for my personal and business lines and decided to get a big screen while I was at it. This phone arrived only 7 days after ordering it and was super easy to set up the two sims with very easy and clear setup to divide the tasks between the two. So far I am very impressed with the quality and the fact that it comes with a very nice screen protector already installed! The phone is bright and fast and the resolution is as good as my previous Galaxy S-2 with a much bigger screen on this one! I am very happy with the initial inspection and testing and especially happy with the included cover, extra battery, and easy to follow instructions. It is also cool that you can use GPS or Glonass (Russian version of GPS) with the phone although I have not tested that functionality out yet. All-in-all, it is a great phone if you want a large screen phone/internet device at a very nice price and without the contract!

I was very pleased with the phone when I got it. Packaged well, looked just like the picture, extra battery... Overall solid presentation and good value for the money. I am an old android user, first gen G1 from tmobile... So I understand the software, ins and outs and all. So functionally fairly happy with the hardware... A few glitches in the software but not bad. I gave the phone as a present on 12/17/2012... She was happy. Last night (1/29/2013) the phone just shut down and now will not reboot past the android screen. Just loops and loops over and over. I have cleared the data in the factory mode and also attempted a reboot. Nothing, I emailed the seller and they did respond with the information of the hard reset...which I had already done but nothing will kick start this thing. I am hoping that a remedy will be made and I am not stuck with a brick... I will update if anything changes.
